Ugandan Policeman in Entebbe locks his Own Mother in house, sets it ablaze.

KAMPALA– The Police in Entebbe have arrested a Police Officer who is alleged to have locked her mother in her bedroom and set the entire house on fire.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the arrest of 38 year old Edward Bua who is a lawyer and Policeman on allegations of setting her mother’s house on fire in the wee hours of Saturday morning. 

Owoyesigyire said that the incident took place at Bugonga cell in Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District and identified the deceased as Nyakuni Margret Onzia, the Deputy Director of Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council who died in the inferno.

Owoyesigyire said that after receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded to the scene immediately and extinguished the fire but found the deceased already dead.

 said that upon the arrest of Assistant Superintendent of Police Bua, a matchbox was recovered from his cloth pockets

The Police have not revealed the circumstances under which Bua locked her 66 year old mother and set her house on fire, but her body was retrieved and taken to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
