Police of Jinja city are holding a Born-Again “Prophet” identified as Joseph Serubiri and his wife Felister Namaganda for allegedly killing a 4-year-old girl who went missing in September this year.
Police said the duo were arrested for ritual murder of an infant girl.
The deceased is 4-year-old Nakisuyi Trinity Nabirye Zabella, a daughter of Mr. John Mulodi resident of Kakira market zone in Kakira town council.
She reportedly went missing on September 30, 2021.
The prime suspects; Pastor Sserubiri and his wife Namaganda are Mulodi’s tenants, who allegedly rented a garage and turned it into a church called Deliverance and Healing Ministries Kakira.
A case of disappearance was registered at CPS Kakira vide SD Ref. 49/01/10/2021 and from that time the parents of the girl and police have been going to various radio stations in Jinja and Iganga in efforts to have the child recovered in vain.
Police said that they tracked the Prophet’s mobile phone numbers and the duo have been arrested successfully.
“After thorough interrogations of the accused persons, they admitted having murdered the child in the church with the motive of establishing powerful deliverance church in Kakira. They are leading police to the place they buried the corpse,” said James Mubi the police spokesperson of Kira Policing region.
